Kinetic Updates

Following the reintroduction of the Search Panel to the Job Screen, we’re excited to announce a series of enhancements aimed at improving efficiency, visibility, and ease of use when interacting with registers and managing job data directly from the Job Screen.

These updates reflect ongoing feedback from our users and mark another step toward a more streamlined and consistent experience within Kinetic.

Key Features:

1. Retained search parameters
Basic search parameters applied within the Item Register are now retained until the user navigates to a different job. This means users can now:

• Search for specific items
• Interact with multiple items under that criteria
• Continue working without needing to reapply filters—until the search is cleared or a new job is selected.

2. Inspection Register Search Panel
The Basic/Advanced Search functionality has been extended to the Inspection Register, offering:

• Filter capabilities based on report name, report dates, and status, among others.
• Retention of search parameters in the Inspection Register until a new job is selected or the search is manually cleared.

3. Improved Tab Count Accuracy
The calculation logic for the Item Register and Inspection Register tab counts has been significantly refined:

• Counts now retain Not Inspected, Draft, and Inspected totals.
• Counts dynamically update based on:
  • Search parameters
  • Inclusion of archived or child items
  • Selection of “items I can inspect”.

4. Enhanced Job File Management
Users with the appropriate permissions can now manage job files directly from the new Job Screen, without needing access to Job Setup:

• Create folders
• Apply folder templates
• Upload files

Previously, this was only available via Job Setup, which created barriers for users responsible for file management.

5. Direct Access to Job Forms
Job forms can now also be created and accessed from the Job Screen (permissions permitting), improving usability and ensuring all relevant users can complete forms without needing Job Setup access:

• Access existing job forms
• Create new job forms
• Complete required documentation prior to job completion

6. Enhanced Field Validation
We’ve improved validation checks to reduce the risk of incomplete transactions:

• Mandatory fields are now enforced when saving job field data.
• Job completion requirements are validated when attempting to mark the job as complete, ensuring all necessary information is captured.

7. Smarter Action Recognition: Single vs Bulk
We’ve made action detection more intuitive:

• Whether a user selects a single item or uses the bulk action, the system automatically presents the appropriate options.
• For instance, selecting a single item for a bulk action like Copy Item will now trigger the relevant single-item workflow.

Found in the Main System alongside the ‘Not Inspected’ and ‘Inspected’ tabs against a Job, the Inspection Summary tab has been developed to provide quick and easy access to all Reports created on a Job.
