Business Requirements:

• Simplify the process of capturing readings from specialist machines developed by Aquatic Engineering
• Be flexible enough to adapt to different types of readings from different machines
• Produce readings on a frequency as dictated by the user
• Capture logs of all readings as required by the user
  

Solution:

• A Windows Forms application that allows machines to be configured for different readings, and displays machine readings when required
• Logging and accessing the machine readings can be turned on simply at the click of a button
  

Technical Details:

• The software was developed using the .NET Framework version 2.0, and can be deployed on a standard windows laptop
• Machines are accessed by the software through a USB to Serial interface
• Programming had to be multi-threaded to allow for user-interaction while readings were requested, received and displayed/logged
