Innovative Motion Software moving forward

Ambitious software developer Motion Software expects to build on last year’s success by recruiting more IT experts and increasing turnover by at least 50% in 2009.

The Aberdeen-based firm is on target to achieve the £700,000 turnover target by May and is looking to recruit three staff within the next few weeks, which will increase the total number of employees to 11.

Motion Software develops and provides tailor-made software solutions to dozens of clients dotted around the world.

The firm recently secured contracts worth more than £100,000 for work in Aberdeen, Dubai, Norway and Perth, Australia and expects to announce further contract wins in the next few weeks.

Last year was a memorable one for the company as it became a Microsoft gold-certified partner. The award is only given to companies that have demonstrated innovative implementation and deployment of its technology.

Managing director Stephen Burt said: “2008 was a terrific year for Motion Software and we want to build on that success in 2009.

“We are looking to appoint two software developers and a business analyst, and to accommodate these additional staff we are increasing the size of our office at Grandholm.

“We’ve grown as a company in the last couple of years and we’re ready to move on to the next stage. It’s important we continue to grow and develop.

“We’ve got an excellent team at Motion and there is a bright future ahead for the company. We have recently implemented a three-to-five year business plan.”

Software development team leader Phillip Carbis added: “Motion Software works closely with clients to provide solutions aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs by installing and maintaining tailor-made software products.

“Companies benefit from the fact our products centralise information and allow management to look at processes and examine ways to improve them. Real-time reporting allows for better monitoring and planning for the company.

“We’re extremely hopeful of landing new business not only at home but abroad and we’re very pleased with the way we’re moving forward.”

Stephen Burt set up Motion Software seven years ago and the company has developed a range of solutions across the globe, supporting businesses using the latest Microsoft tools and technologies.
