Motion Software, one of Aberdeen’s leading software company’s, is continuing its’ success in 2008 with increased sales within their rental software division in both the UK and abroad.

Aspire Rentals, the popular rental management system created by Motion Software provides an off - the - shelf solution to companies renting or selling equipment across any business sector. The latest contract wins, worth a six figure sum, takes the client base of this particular software programme to 15, since its launch in 2006.

International manufacturing company Anson is another company who has recently invested in the Aspire Rental Software. Anson produce a wide range of products including Valves, Manifolds and Flowline Equipment within the Oil & Gas market. March 08 - Mobile Solutions for Seletar

Seletar is an independent ships agency providing a comprehensive multi-faceted Agency and Offshore support service. They have recently purchased and deployed a customised solution from motion in order to tighten up the flow between receiving freight and tracking the items till they reach their end point. Built around the .net and .net mobile 2.0 framework the application was deployed on standard Windows PC and for the warehouse functionality we supplied Psion Teklogix rugged handhelds with Windows Mobile. February 08 - Redback Certification

In order to manage and track certification and planned maintenance, Redback have recently implemented the fully integrated PM Module for Aspire. As one of aspire’s first customers, Redback have deployed the software on a worldwide basis and this step now allows them to control and output certification and PM details at the ouch of a button.

At CIE we offer complete manufacture and repair of subsea and surface well control, drilling and workover equipment. January 08 - RBG Ltd Purchase Aspire

International oil and gas services company RBG Ltd is one of the latest Motion Software clients to purchase aspire. The company's specialist services cover the lifecycle of a field, including drilling, construction, hook-up and commissioning, operations, maintenance and inspection support, and decommissioning.

RBG required a global solution covering its full operations cycle from initial enquiry through to billing, and also incorporating Planned Maintenance and Certification management. With more than 200 users from day one, this is the largest aspire site to date.

September 07 - Norco is Northern Star!

Norco Group, the Aberdeen-based battery specialist, has won a prestigious award for its innovative asset-tracking software, developed in association with Motion Software. The company won the 'Best Use of ICT' category for its Norco RMS™ software programme in this year's Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce Northern Star Business Awards, which celebrate the 'brightest and best in the business'.

Presenting the award, category judge Stephen Neilson, Small Business Development Manager for Microsoft, said Norco had won by demonstrating innovative use of technology to gain competitive advantage.

Working in partnership with Motion, Norco has developed many new systems during the past year. In addition to Norco RMS™, the bespoke asset tracking, transaction recording and reporting system, these include: Norco CMS, the internal sales and marketing database for the input and recording of all customer activity; Norco Intranet, the internal portal for sharing information, and Norco Extranet, the bespoke internet-based ordering system for Norco customers. Norco Group is the UK market leader in the short-term rental, procurement, maintenance and management of traction and standby batteries.

September 07 - Motion's First Overseas-Based Client, PI Intervention

Motion's first overseas-based client, PI Intervention, of Stavanger, has been using aspire since early 2006. The company, which provides subsea services to the international oil and gas industry, is currently using V2 of the software, which incorporates full asset management, maintenance management and billing. To further build its client base in Norway, Motion has appointed a Norwegian agent and reseller.

September 07 - Motion Wins kpmg Business Golf League 2007

September started with a swing for Motion Software, when the company scooped first place for the second time in three years, in the KPMG Business Golf League.

Since its launch in 1996, the annual golf challenge has become a key event for the North-east of Scotland business community.

During the summer months, teams compete against each other round robin-style in leagues of six. The winners of each league progress to Finals Day. This year’s final was again played at Moray Golf Club, Lossiemouth, where 25 teams competed for the main trophies on a sunny, blustery day in September. The RAF provided impressive side entertainment for the players by flying jets over the golf course! Distractions notwithstanding, Motion Software won first prize in the competition - a replay of the company’s victory in 2005.

August 07 - Motion has Implemented Aspire V2 to Manage the Cansco Dubai entire fleet

Cansco Dubai supplies drilling equipment for rental to oil companies and drilling contractors and has used aspire in Aberdeen for four years to maximise the use of equipment and reduce the number of days spent at month-end carrying out sales invoicing. To facilitate Cansco's recent move to new custom-fitted premises in Dubai, Motion has implemented aspire V2 to manage the company's entire fleet of equipment, from enquiry through to billing. The software, which has full multi-currency functionality, was implemented on site and is supported remotely by the Motion Team.

August 07 - Motion ‘Props’ for Ellon Rugby Team

As a keen participant in most things sporting, Motion has become a sponsor of Ellon Rugby Team and recently purchased the players’ first and second team tracksuits.Ellon are currently on the cusp of the promotion places in Division 3 of the National League. August 06 - Norco keep a close eye on their assets

Norco and Motion are currently running a pilot on the usage of RFID in the ongoing maintenance and asset tracking of Norco’s stored energy solutions. The pilot is running with a small sample initially, with plans for this to roll out to a full fleet program following successful piloting.

As part of centralizing and integrating business systems within Norco, Motion deployed their latest CRM solution. Fully integrated with Outlook and internal back end systems, Norco CMS allows users the opportunity to manage customers through a web based solution and for marketing personnel to fully utilize the mail merge and reporting functionality.
