RFID and BAR-CODES

Tag and scan equipment to increase efficiency and reliability

The first step in an inspection or an audit is identification. Should you wish to, you can take advantage of advanced electronic identification technologies such as RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) or barcodes that ensure quick and accurate identification of equipment. Motion Inspect is compatible with both RFID and bar code technologies.

Bar Coding is the traditional and most recognized method of equipment auto identification.

Bar Codes are tried and tested but require line of sight to be read and cannot be read if damaged or dirty.RFID RFID is similar to bar code technology with the key difference that the RFID tag does not need to be seen for it to be read.

An RFID system always involves two elements, the tag and the reader

RFID tags can be packaged in a number of ways making it suitable for a variety of applications and allowing them to work effectively even in harsh environments with excessive dirt, dust, moisture, and extreme temperatures.

We have tags suitable for lifting equipment and hose management amongst others with or without ATEX certification.

Consideration must be given to;

  • Tag and reader compatibility.
  • Method of attachment and material to which the tag is attached.
  • Distance from which the tag can be read.
  • Environment in which the reader and tags have to operate.

Serial numbers still work

Still want to use serial numbers? No problem ! We realise that RFID and BarCoding is not for everyone
